Dry Skin? Here's a Simple Regime to Care for Your Dry Skin

Touch your face. Is the texture of your skin rough and flaky? Does it have little to no oil on it, not even on the t-zone? Do you lack pimples, but have weird, bumpy skin patches, which are usually dry? Does the corner of your nose and mouth itch whenever the weather becomes slightly dry?

Congratulations, you are from the dry skin family. As with every skin type, your skin has some positives and negatives, which will ultimately help in determining your skincare regime.

For starters, you have tiny pores on your face. Which means that you will usually not be bothered with inflamed pores, pimples and excess oil. The problem, however, is that your pores do not provide enough oil on your face. Not having enough oil can be greatly problematic, because your skin will always be dehydrated.

Also, with the lack of oil, your skin is more prone to early wrinkles and fine lines. However, the greatest battle that you have to fight with your dry skin is the lack of a proper skin barrier. Because of bare minimum oil production, your skin will often be sensitive to the environment around you. The harsh sun will be your enemy here.

But of course, you can control your skin to an extent with the help of a skincare regime. Following this every day will be beneficial, but you have to make sure all the products you are using are free from damaging toxic chemicals, and won’t disrupt your sensitive skin barrier. Natural products will be your best friend here.

  1. Cleanser: You should use a cleanser, but, the cleanser has to be really, really gentle. It should not have any surfactants, but clean well. We recommend the Active Botanical Face Wash by Daughter Earth, which is made from 100% natural extracts and is pH balanced to make sure that your skin barrier isn’t hurt. It has Aloe vera and marigold extract that provide hydration citrus and licorice that provide exfoliation, and neem to prevent any bacteria from disrupting your skin.
  2. Moisturise: Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate some more! For the dry skin type, the skin lacks the barrier to hold on to the water in the cells. Therefore, artificially hydrating the skin is essential to reduce dry patches and bumpiness. The moisturiser should not be pore clogging, as it can give rise to pimples, and no one wants that! The Eternal Youth Phytonutrient Moisturiser is crafted carefully to include ingredients that are mild and lightweight. The Pomegranate seed oil in its formula is meant for hydration and Indian Mulberry works to prevent premature aging, a problem that dry skin type face.
  3. Take care of your Lips: Your lips show one of the first signs of ageing - really!  When you have dry skin, your lips will be extra dry. And dry lips will get chapped and bruised more often, which is uncomfortable. To protect it, lip balm can be applied several times a day. Our Anti-oxidant Lip balm is a good solution, because not only is it chemical free, but also, it is moisturising and lightweight.
